Gold-tone bracelets: what the words mean
3 min read ยท Beach Bead Co

Shops use many words for gold-colored jewelry. Some of them mean real gold and some do not. We think you should know which is which.
Here is what gold-tone means on our bracelet.
Gold-tone means a finish
Gold-tone describes the color. It is a gold-colored finish on a different metal underneath. It is not solid gold and it is not gold-filled.
We say it in full: copper beads with a gold-tone finish (not solid gold).
What the bracelet is made of
The Gold-Tone Ball Bead Bracelet is made of round copper beads with a gold-tone finish. It is a strand bracelet with no clasp, and it comes in three styles, A, B and C.
The Beaded Stack Set of 4 has tin alloy details and a small charm.
Looking after the finish
A gold-tone finish can wear with friction, water and lotions. Keep it dry, take it off for swimming and showers, and store it flat.
See our guide to caring for bead bracelets.
Choosing a style
The Gold-Tone Ball Bead Bracelet comes in three styles, A, B and C. Look at the photos on the product page and pick the style you like best next to the rest of your stack.
If you want to mix it with colorful glass, try it next to a Glass Bead Stretch Bracelet. Keep the pieces to a similar size so the stack stays tidy, and remember that the gold-tone bracelet has no clasp, so you slip it on over your hand.
