Packing jewelry for a beach vacation
3 min read ยท Beach Bead Co

Beach trips are hard on jewelry: sand, salt, sun cream and swimming. A little planning keeps your favorites in good order.
Here is a short packing routine.
Pack a small list
Pick two or three pieces you will really wear. A bracelet, an anklet and a choker is plenty.
The Shell Bead Anklet, the Glass Bead Stretch Bracelet, Coral Reef and the Gold-Tone Ball Bead Bracelet make a nice trio.
Keep them in a pouch
Use a small soft pouch or a zip bag. Store each piece flat so strings do not tangle.
Keep the pouch in your carry-on, not in checked luggage.
Know what to leave at home
Leave anything you would be sad to lose. Take pieces off before swimming, showers and sports, as our care notes say.
Put your jewelry on after sunscreen and lotion, once they have dried.
A short checklist
Before you go, check each piece. Make sure the cord is snug and the beads are all in place, and try the size on at home so you know it fits. All sales are final, so it is wise to find out before the trip.
Put the pouch in a spot you can reach, such as the front pocket of your bag. Wear the pieces at the end of the day, after the sunscreen has dried.
Take your pieces off before swimming and showers, and pat them dry if they get wet. At the end of the trip, wipe each one with a soft cloth and store it flat. The Glass Bead Choker Necklace is a good addition if you want a fourth piece for evenings.
